Welcome to The Black Orchid Society!
The Black Orchid Society is a low-key community of adventurers who
strive for personal excellence and camaraderie. The Society
attempts to supplement a need for those players seeking a community of
serious players who are not quite hardcore, but strive for excellence
in WoW, within a casual community.
Some of our members are serious about WoW, but their lifestyles do
not allow them to fully commit to a hardcore community. Some
members find The Society to be an excellent development ground for
their more ambitious alts as well as a nice place for mature
socializing. Some simply love the fellowship
of the Black Orchid Society.
Mature, friendly, active and competitive--while not demanding too much out of your life.

Hey All,
Chow here. In light of the recent changes, the leaving of the level 70 cores and what not, I did feel some transparency was necessary on the forums.
That is, the officers did a wonderful job running BOS for a long time, but they felt it was the right time to move on and create a new guild. And I wish them the best with that.
Because this might be a confusing time for many, I felt it would be good to move two of the officer threads to the society threads so members can better understand the intentions as well as some of the stresses the officers faced.
I did not pester them when they were creating the new guild because I know it is their guild and I should respect that by not forcing my way into its direction or philosophy. I do wish them my best.
I have put Xarthan in charge of the guild and we will run things casually for awhile. We will probably give members back the ability to invite soon. For now, BOS is fairly casual and I will see how the members do things as a guild.
I want everyone to know I'm very proud of this guild and it has built many bonds and adventures over the years. I wish I had more time to give you all and I hope to see you all soon ^_^
"A Suggestion to Reform the Guild" is the first thread acknowledging that the new guild is underway and it expresses the issues the officers faced in BOS and intend to rectify with their new guild.
"Reformation Notice" is the draft made for the main page and has a little bit of discussion in it.

Within the next few days, BOS will undergo a reformation. The officers will be creating and moving to a new guild called, “Famous Last Words.” The primary purpose of this new guild will be for more serious end-game raiding made up of the level 70 players who have been participating regularly in our raids and instance runs. As you know, Chow/Chanchai is the current Guild Master of BOS, and he has been aware of this possibility.
As officers, we have felt it important to branch out with a new philosophy and leadership. If members of BOS are interested in applying for membership into the new guild when they reach level 70, are able to commit to some focus of end-game raiding, and wish to contribute to the new guild’s philosophy then they may do so. Those who wish to apply, will undergo a trial period, as it is important to the new leadership to acquire skilled and committed players.
There will be a new website available soon that will provide information about Famous Last Words, our philosophy, leadership, and the application process. If you have questions or concerns about this reformation, please contact an officer and address this with him or her.
